Co:LAB - The Danny Orwin

This one is a bit of a double whammy! We want to introduce you to a collaborator for Minus Touch and simultaneously unveil a new associate artist.

A local lad who has not only done one rodeo. He's a director who has delivered some awesome films and he's worked with us before on MOTH and Slingshot, creating brilliant promotional trailers for both. Now he's ready to step into the sunshine properly (see picture).

So without further ado, we'd like to introduce The Danny Orwin: filmmaker.

A bit about Danny:

Danny is a Royal Television Society Award winning filmmaker and graduated from Manchester School of Art in 2013 with a 1st Class BA (Hons) in Filmmaking.

Working as a Producer and Director, his passion is to create engaging stories about place and belonging, working across fact and fiction.

He has delivered work for international exhibitions, and had films selected to screen at HOME, Manchester Art Gallery, ICA London, Milwaukee Art Gallery, Manchester International Festival as well as British Film Institute (featured below).

Dirty Old Town

Short documentary exploring two men's stories about their upbringing in Salford. An investigation into psychogeography, friendship and the passage of time.

Danny has been doing fantastic work for Minus Touch, juggling prerecorded footage, split screens and live streaming. It's a quite a feat watching him handle it all. Whether in the rehearsal room sharing ideas or on set capturing footage, it's been a pleasure working with him again.

After numerous successful collaborations, we're over the moon to now call Danny an Associate Artist and we're very eager to share our work this Sunday at the Royal Exchange as part of Co:LAB Festival.
